Mahira Khan Represents Pakistan at Cannes Film Festival 2018

Mahira Khan is representing Pakistan at Cannes film festival 2018 and we are so proud.

Cannes Film Festival 2018 is the 71st edition of the event. It is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the entire world. Every year, hundreds of filmmakers, actors and international stars get together at the French Riveria to celebrate films, glamour and talent. Since the evolution of social media, the red carpet has become everybody’s centre of attention. Similarly this year, people are waiting anxiously for the red carpet looks and rate them from the comforts of their beds.

Mahira is the first female Pakistani actor to walk the red carpet.

This year, it is a little personal for Pakistanis. As our very own, Mahira Khan, is there to represent our country. She is the first-ever female actor from Pakistan to attend the event. She has been invited by Loreal Paris Hair-Care as their spokesperson. A press conference was held in Karachi on 10th May, in which she talked about attending the event. She said:

“Everyone’s been asking me that it must be so exciting for you, but to be honest I feel like I am a player of the Pakistani cricket team who is playing all alone. I am very nervous. But, at the same time, I am really honoured as this is a proud moment for Pakistan and it will hopefully open a lot more doors for us.”

Previously, Adnan Siddiqui was the only Pakistani actor to make an appearance at Cannes. He attended the festival in 2008 for his film, ‘A Mighty Heart’.

French Embassy wished good luck to Mahira for representing Pakistan.

The French Embassy in Pakistan took to Twitter to wish Mahira all the best for her debut at the event. They tweeted, “The French Embassy wishes good luck to Mahira Khan for representing Pakistan and Loreal at #Cannes2018. Mahira, we are sure you won’t trip over the red carpet!”

Mahira will walk the red carpet on 14-15 May.

Although Mahira will be walking the red carpet on 14-15 May, we hope to get a glimpse of her outfit beforehand. Also, we hope that she wears the traditional shalwar kameez and make us more proud.

Best of luck, Mahira!
