They even have a special school for transgenders in Lahore. The happiest news of the day is that Coffee Wagera hires Moni Bhatt, the first transgender barista.

The cafe owner, Mush Panjwari, always wanted to hire transgender people.

He wanted to them to feel hy65welcome and be an equal part of this community. He has definitely started a positive movement. In an interview, he talked about Moni Bhatt and said,

“She’s just had her first day yesterday and she loved it. She’s a fast learner and got the hang of the job very quickly. The best part is that my other team members treat her as a member of the team. For me, that was a concern, that my team members understand this and neither cause her any discomfort or are uncomfortable themselves. I was very happy with the result of her first day.”

Other than her, Rimal Ali, the first transgender fashion model, is breaking barriers for her community. Also, she will make her debut in the upcoming film, 7 Din Mohabbat In. She will be starring opposite Mahira Khan, Shehryar Munawar, Faisal Qureshi, Javed Sheikh, Hina Dilpazeer.

We are proud of Moni Bhatt and Coffee Wagera.

We need more transgender people in these kinds of places. Also, people need to interact with them more and get to know them better. This is a huge step for the transgender community and Pakistan. However, we still have a long way to go. We wish all the best to Moni Bhatt and Coffee Wagera.
