People started suggesting who should play Ms Marvel
While there were some who suggested Priyanka Chopra should play Ms Marvel, most of them don’t think its a good idea.
stop fancasting priyanka chopra as ms marvel she’s supposed to be a pakistani teenager not an adult indian woman don’t take rep away from pakistanis and perpetuate the racist idea that indians and pakistanis are the same and interchangeable thanks for coming to my ted talk

marvel: we're planning to add #MsMarvel to the mcu

Seriously, have you? *rolls eyes*
if they actually introduce Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan) into the MCU, she deserves to be portrayed by a dark skinned, muslim Pakistani girl under the age of 21 and literally nobody else. pic.twitter.com/O4W3605Fg3

Why is everyone in this thread so obsessed with Priyanka Chopra playing Ms. Marvel? She's 1) not capable of passing for a high-schooler 2) not Pakistani 3) already a MEGA star! The fact that people can only cite her just shows the scarcity of south asian women in mainstream media https://t.co/i1ODiRa2OO

Obviously if the character isn’t played by a Pakistani we will be disappointed.
I’m so excited for Ms Marvel I just hope an actual Pakistani gets to play the role instead of whitewashing it and giving it to a white person like what happened w Ghost in the Shell & Scarlett Johansson playing a character who’s supposed to be Asian smh

Marvel should not mess up the casting
Although Priyanka Chopra is a very talented actress, she is not the appropriate choice for Ms Marvel. They should cast someone who can represent Pakistanis and Muslims. It should be a Pakistani. Period. Also, we have so many talented actresses in Pakistan who can play this part with ease.
Meanwhile, we have some suggestions for Marvel’s first Muslim superhero:

While these are some of the famous actresses, there are so many talented teenage girls waiting for the right opportunity. Marvel should consider real teenage girls for this part.
Here’s hoping that Marvel gives this part to someone who can really represent Pakistanis

Although its great news for Muslims everywhere, we need the right representation of Pakistanis as well.
